The Artist

Flora Faund (b. 1984) is an American fine art photographer working at the edge where living form meets human structure. Faund’s photographic journey began in childhood with disposable film, formalizing through early photojournalism training and an immersive pivot into professional photojournalism, where she spent years capturing raw editorial narratives for regional newspapers. Her current practice represents a lifelong archive of visual research, shifting from raw environmental documentation into highly focused, conceptual series.

Faund makes slow studies of what is usually walked past: roses at full architecture, wildflowers held inside a fence, rusted valves, and locks left in suspension. Reclaiming hidden industrial remnants, mechanisms of containment, and shadowed botany, Faund utilizes high-contrast blackout techniques and physical frames-within-frames to explore the boundary lines between human infrastructure and organic resilience.

The work is organized as four series. Signature is botanical close study. Insight is flora seen through fences and other found apertures. Iron and Tendrils is historical industrial remnant. Shadows of Stasis is locks and mechanisms of pause.

This site is the public launch of a long private practice. Exhibition notes will be added as they land.
